MOOSEMEAT & MARMALADE

We were pleased to welcome a Canadian film crew to Hurstwood Farm today, to film the cobnut trees and the oil processing plant, for a TV series.

The series, aired in Canada and the USA, is 'Moosemeat and Marmalade'.  They show the origins of food, and then film the produce being prepared in a restaurant.   Roasted cobnuts will be made into a pesto, and the oil will be used to prepare roasted pigeon.

The cooking scenes will be shot at 'Native', a London restaurant based on foraged food.  Mr Dain was the star, telling the history of the orchards and introducing the show.  Catherine added practical information about the oil processing.  We all enjoyed an oil tasting at the end.

The presenters (Art and Dan - Moosemeat and Marmalade) loved the roasted cobnuts and the oil, and we enjoyed meeting them.  An exhausting but enjoyable day.  The show will be screened in Autumn 2017 - in Canada and the USA.
